HISTORY
Ferrari revealed the 512 BB in 1976 as successor to the 365 GT4 BB, featuring the same Leonardo Fioravanti-designed lines and Scaglietti-made coachwork, albeit with a larger and now dry-sump 5.0-litre V-12 engine. It introduced improved cooling and an updated rear end with twin rear lights in the place of the triple cluster of its predecessor.
OUR 512 BB
Our 512 BB was delivered new in October 1979 through SA.MO.CAR. Spa in Rome, Italy. It was specified new in the very rare shade of Argento Metallizzato (633.6.031 Salchi), which it retains to this day, over a Pelle Nera interior (now Pelle Rossa). The Boxer Berlinetta presents in concours condition, having been restored at big expense. The mechanical side was taken care of by Toni Auto in Maranello, at a cost of over 113,000 Euros in December 2022. In 2021, a Ferrari Classiche Certification was awarded, stating that the BB retains its matching-numbers engine, gearbox, and differential.
Currently on UK title, the car can be either sold in or outside of the UK. We are happy to organize the import in Europe for European customers.
This represents an opportunity to own a collector-grade Ferrari from the 70’s in a condition that can only be described as better than new. The Boxer Berlinetta’s have always been fantastic cars, especially the ones with the caruberettors, such as the example presented here. Being an original Argento 512 BB, this must be one of a handful cars that left the factory in this shade, without the black lower trim. The BB can be inspected on appointment at our showroom in the outskirts of Taufkirchen.
