HISTORY

Unveiled in 2011, the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series represents the pinnacle of AMG’s engineering during the naturally aspirated V8 era. Based on the W204-generation C-Class Coupe, the Black Series was not merely a tuned version of the C63—it was a purpose-built, track-focused machine developed by AMG engineers with the ethos of a race car for the road.

At its heart lies the legendary 6.2-litre M156 V8 engine, producing 517 horsepower and 620 Nm of torque. This hand-built, naturally aspirated engine revs to over 7,000 rpm and delivers one of the most visceral and unmistakable soundtracks in modern motoring. Power is sent to the rear wheels through AMG’s seven-speed Speedshift MCT transmission, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 4.2 seconds.

The C63 AMG Black Series features a widened body, aggressive aerodynamics, and track-tuned suspension, much of which was derived directly from AMG’s racing programs. Optional performance packages included adjustable coilovers, a rear differential lock, and a titanium exhaust system, all contributing to its exceptional handling and precision.

Limited to approximately 800 units worldwide, the Black Series stands as one of the rarest and most sought-after AMGs of its era. Its combination of raw performance, mechanical purity, and limited production ensures its place among the most desirable modern Mercedes-Benz models.

our C63 AMG Black Series

This Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series was originally delivered new through Mercedes-Benz Milano to its first owner in Italy, who covered the majority of the car’s mileage. Finding the car a bit too radical for his taste, he later traded it in at Porsche Center Garda, where the current owner acquired it in 2016.

The current custodian of this rare Black Series is none other than Maximilian Götz, professional DTM racing driver and 2021 DTM Champion. Götz explained that he purchased the C63 AMG Black Series in 2016 after driving the corresponding DTM race car and falling in love with its character. Throughout that season, he frequently used the car to commute to and from the racetrack — yet, notably, never drove it on track. During his ownership, the car accumulated approximately 4,000 km.

Today, the C63 AMG Black Series presents in excellent condition. Aside from a few light stone chips on the front, there is very little to remark upon. The car received a service at Mercedes-Benz Munich in November 2025, and the brakes were replaced.
