THE MODEL
Make: BMW
Model: Z8 Roadster
Year of Manufacture: 2001
Exterior: Titansilber
Arguably one of the finest designs of the 21st century, the BMW Z8 was none other than the work of Henrik Fisker. Inspired by the achingly beautiful BMW 507, it was designed with exclusivity, quality, and attention to details in mind, and it shows. As with many bold and futuristic designs and concepts, the Z8 wasn’t a success for BMW in the early 2000’s. Through the years, this controversiality turned into admiration and love, as the car aged like fine wine, both technologically and from a design point of view.
The Z8 not only captivates collectors and enthusiasts of fine automobiles thanks to its stunning body, but also for its engine and driving qualities. Powered by the naturally aspirated M-engine borrowed from the M5 E39 of that time, coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission, and with a body mainly made of aluminum, it was easy to fall under the charm of this comfortable roadster.
The Z8 was built on a special production line within BMW’s Munich facility. In total, only 5,702 examples left the factory between 1999 and 2003.
