The Ford GT Carbon Series is a factory-produced variant of the second-generation Ford GT, introduced for the 2019 model year. It was conceived as a lighter, more track-focused interpretation of the standard GT, while remaining fully road legal. The defining characteristic of the Carbon Series is its extensive use of exposed carbon fiber, including the center stripes, mirror caps, A-pillars, and lower body sections. Weight reduction was achieved through the use of carbon-fiber wheels, titanium lug nuts, a titanium exhaust system, and other detail optimizations, resulting in a modest but meaningful reduction compared to the standard car. Mechanically, it retains the same 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6, producing 660 hp, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
From a rarity perspective, the Carbon Series sits among the least common factory Ford GT variants. While Ford did not publicly disclose precise production figures, industry sources and owners’ registries generally indicate that production was limited to only a few dozen cars worldwide. This places it well below the already low overall production volume of the second-generation Ford GT and makes it significantly rarer than most other specifications offered during the model’s run.
