MODEL

As the successor to the Ferrari 275 GTB/4, the Ferrari 365 GTB/4 known as the Daytona received a significantly more powerful engine and a completely new design. Being the top model from Ferrari at the time, the Daytona managed to outperform its competitor Lamborghini Miura in terms of engine performance and top speed. Not insignificant in his day, as Enzo Ferrari had been an advocate for front engine sports cars.

HISTORY

Our Daytona with chassis number 16107 was born on September 1st, 1972, the date of completion in Maranello. As one of only 16 Oro Chiaro Daytonas built, the car was sold or delivered to the Iranian embassy in Rome in the same month. Immediately after chassis 16107 was exported to Tehran. Wonderful contemporary pictures from the 70s in Iran show this exciting time. It wasn’t until 1985, when a French gentleman bought the car in Tehran. So it found its way back to Europe and was exported to Paris. Through a period in the United States Chassis 16107 found ist way to Italy in the early 2000s. Mr. Davide de Bernardi bought the car in 2002 and presented it at the Ferrari Incontro d’Arte meeting in San Marino in the same year. After another owner in Italy, the last owner and collector from Germany bought chassis 16107 in 2015. In the meantime, the car was repainted in the stunning original colours of Oro Chiaro. Mechanically overhauled and with a completely renewed interieur today the Daytona is in an impressively good, but not freshly restored condition. The Ferrari Classiche certificate was commissioned and once again confirms the originality and correctness of the numbers on the engine, transmission and other components.

In any case, hardly any car embodies the style of the 70s better than the Ferrari Daytona. Being already an important model in Ferraris history Chassis 16107 presented in rare and wonderful Oro Chiaro makes all the difference. In addition to its very good condition and documented history, this a special example of an already very special model from Ferrari.
