HISTORY
In 2021 the Lamborghini Countach turned fifty, and the celebrate the marque’s arguably most famous car (in close contention with the Miura) Lamborghini decided to launch a car which was an overtly retro homage to the original design, incorporating features of every generation of the Countach.
The styling is in many ways closer to the purest early Countach with clean lines and a single angular form, but it also pulled in details from the later cars in the side skirts and light treatments. Even the colour options, like our Arancio over beige interior, hark back to the era of 80s excess.
Mechanically the car new model was based on the Aventador, but with a mild-hybrid drivetrain from the Sian. The driving experience is particularly Lamborghini and delightfully old-school hypercar thanks to the brutally effective 7-speed sequential gearbox and howling V12. Out of town the size of the car quickly disappears, and it feels remarkably balanced and relatively easy to place on the road. In short it delivers all the sensation of a true V12 hyper car but with just enough usability thrown in! No surprise then that the first owner of this car quite righty drove his example!
