993 Carrera RS 3.8 Clubsport
Key Facts:
- one of 100 Clubsport models ever built
HISTORY
For many Porsche enthusiasts, the 993 generation is perhaps the most beautiful series of all 911s. Being the last of its breed, the aircooled 993 for this reason deserves a unique spot in the company successful and glorious history. Especially the motorsport inspired versions, have always had a special demand of want. The 993RS is no exception. The high-revving engine has been upgraded by 2mm to just under 3.8 liters and produces 300 BHP in the RS, while weigth has been reduced by around 100kg. Everything unnecessary for its performance was deleted. This eliminated the need for electric windows, electric mirrors, the headlight cleaning system and the radio, while using light aluminum for the hood and thinner glass.
To top it all off, around 100 club sport models were built. A race car for the road. Further modifications were a roll cage, which further increased the rigidity, bucket seats, 6-point harnesses, battery emergency switch, fire extinguisher and a large, fixed rear spoiler.
Our Porsche 993 RS Clubsport was delivered on March 23, 1995 at the Porsche Center Rhein-Oberberg. As one of the approximately 100 clubsport vehicles, the car was stored and hardly moved in the first few years. With its original 25,980km, maintaned, original service book, and in the original and desirable colour of black, this RS Clubsport is certainly one of the best and most sought-after examples in the entire 993 family. The last service was done at 24,045km at the PZ. Far from the synthetic vehicles of the current 911 generation, the 993RS Clubsport challenges, but above all it produces emotion, driving pleasure and makes you smile with enthusiasm after a nice tour. This is why cars like this have been built and developed. They don’t do them like they use to. In addition to the pure experience, especially Chassis 390118 with all it’s boxes ticked, this RS Clubsport is also a great “emotional” investment.
