HISTORY
Four years after the introduction of the LP400 Periscopio, Lamborghini decided to give the Countach a freshen-up. And so, the LP400 S was born in 1978. Three different series of cars were made, of which only the two first series were what is commonly referred to as “low-body” examples, most desirable among collectors. The Series II Countach LP400S was produced at only 105 examples, recognizable by its smooth telephone-dial wheels and low stance. There is no denying that the Countach is one of the most recognizable shapes ever made and a true childhood poster car. The dream car status was further enhanced by the LP400S’ aggressive looks compared to the early LP400 yet still clean and simple lines that made the Periscopio such a great design.
Our Countach Lp400 S
Our LP400S is a rare and desirable Series II example that was delivered new to Switzerland in 1982. The history is limpid and fully traceable, having only had five owners from new, three of which were in Switzerland. The invoices go back as far as 1997 and document what has been invested in the car during the last 26 years. Its current owner treated the car to a full engine overhaul by specialist Top Motors Salvioli in 2022 as well as a fresh repaint in the stunning color of Tahiti Blue by Carrozzeria Meschiari in Italy. The beautifully patinated cream and brown interior remains untouched. In total, the Countach has only been driven about 46,400 km from new.
Presented in stunning condition with a fully overhauled engine, our Countach is ready to be enjoyed on the sunny Italian roads this summer and comes fully documented with invoices and its original manuals. At only 105 examples built, the LP400S Series II remains an underrated and undervalued bull and is just waiting for its time to come.
