Paul Darvill

Paul’s love of all things automotive runs deep. A childhood spent devouring books and magazines and weekends spent at local car shows left an indelible mark. Aged 12 he was fortunate to meet a local collector whose generous spirit and infectious enthusiasm allowed him to experience running cars at Goodwood, Monaco and Silverstone, and learn about many of the great marques. Despite not planning to pursue a career with cars, when the opportunity arose shortly after he graduated from….

Meet Kevin Braun

After drooling over pictures of cars and their performance figures in magazines as a child, and observing every little detail of his scaled model of a 288 GTO which he was gifted as a small boy for being brave at the dentist, Kevin’s dream of owning his own car business was stuck in his mind, so much so that after working for a few years at Ferrari Financial Services, he left everything behind, and with just about enough funds to found a company, he created Schaltkulisse in 2010. His relentless efforts, integrity, quality of work and belief in the collector car market brought Schaltkulisse to a whole new dimension in just a few years’ time. What started as a one-man show is now an international company that counts 10 team members, a showroom, workshop, storage facility in Munich and a new showroom under construction in Miami.

Meet Rambo Akgül

Joining Schaltkulisse nearly 3 years ago, Rambo Akgül has made a significant impact on the team through his work in event organization and brand management. With a background in sports and event management, including an exchange semester in Sacramento, Rambo’s expertise has been invaluable in organizing events such as the Miami Showroom Opening and the Schaltkulisse Golf Tournament. As someone who truly believes that “your network is your net worth,” Rambo has leveraged his extensive global connections to benefit Schaltkulisse, securing fashion brand collaborations and sponsorships for events. His organizational talent ensures that each event runs smoothly and according to plan. People often describe Rambo as “nicht aus der Ruhe zu bringen,” illustrating his unflappable demeanor in high-pressure situations. When it comes to cars, Rambo sees himself in a Porsche 964 Turbo 3.6, a vehicle that represents style, performance, and exclusivity. In his free time, Rambo enjoys playing football and traveling. With his unwavering commitment to making Schaltkulisse GmbH a globally recognized brand and his impressive network, Rambo continues to be a driving force behind the company’s success.

Meet Juliane Braun

As a key member of the Schaltkulisse team for more than 8 years, Juliane Braun has been instrumental in the company’s development since day one. In her role overseeing event organization, she has managed significant occasions such as the Miami Showroom Opening and the Schaltkulisse Golf Tournament, all while helping to make Schaltkulisse GmbH a globally recognizable brand. Growing up in a family that owned a motorcycle shop, Juliane has always been surrounded by vehicles. A memorable discussion with her father at 18 about whether she even needed a car driving license showcases her passion for all things on wheels. While her heart still leans toward motorcycles, Juliane has transitioned her enthusiasm to four-wheelers at Schaltkulisse. Having studied Intercultural Management, Juliane is fluent in German, Spanish, French, and English. This linguistic prowess, combined with her love for traveling, enables her to connect with people from various cultures and backgrounds. As a loving mother of two girls, Juliane finds balance in her life through practicing yoga and fostering a nurturing home environment. With her strong commitment to making Schaltkulisse a household name and her vast experience in event organization and brand management, Juliane continues to be an indispensable asset to the Schaltkulisse team.

Meet Hugh Angle

Hugh’s career started within the art world at Sotheby’s, London, but his real passion was always classic automobiles and racing cars, passed to him by his father who was a keen Porsche and Aston Martin collector and racer. Hugh spent many successful and competitive years behind the wheel of some special racing cars throughout Europe, including spending a number of years instructing with Silverstone Circuit Racing School in the UK and time in British GT3. It was inevitable that he found himself working more with classic cars than art and decided to follow his passion and a career in the collectible automotive world.

Meet Stefan Hefele

Stefan is Schaltkulisse’s newest addition and team member of our Engineering department. Like many bitten by the car virus, he pursued an automotive mechatronics apprenticeship and earned a master technician title thereafter. He started his professional career in 2015 in the legendary halls of BMW Classic in Munich where he stayed until 2017, an occupation during which he was on the road, a lot, as part of the Service Team fort he Mille Miglia, Arabella Classic, and even the Festival of Speed in Goodwood. He then joined the development department at BMW Group in 2018 where he stayed until 2020. Since May 2022, he is an active member of the Engineering department, bringing in a lot of know-how accumulated no only professionally, but also on the side as an occupation in his spare time. Indeed, he has built a small workshop around his garage, where together with his father, they enjoy restoring a 1965 Ford Mustang 289 convertible.

Meet Amin Siala

Amin can vividly remember himself going on walks with his parents and naming all the cars parked on the streets by their names, from a distance. For as long as he can remember, he has loved cars with a passion. His whole life is an embodiment of this love story, and the scaled models of a Jaguar XJ220 and a Bugatti EB110 he received from his parents as a kid reinforced his curiosity about supersports cars. Born in Paris to a Tunisian family and growing up in both countries and in Germany means he speaks French, German, English and Arabic fluently. In the hope of pursuing his passion for automobiles, he decided to take a leap of faith and move to Germany to study engineering. He enrolled at the Technical University of Munich from which he graduated with a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Management, and after accomplishing internships at Porsche in Weissach and BMW in Garching and an exchange semester at the Tokyo Institute of Technology, he decided to take a different route and follow his gut feeling, joining Schaltkulisse full-time since September 2021

Meet Michelle Eicher

Michelle is Schaltkulisse’s youngest team member. When she’s not busy practicing ballett with kids, Michelle takes care of our media design. She joined our office in Munich in April 2021 as a dual student at the IU in Munich to gain professional experience and has been since then making sure that our ads, books, invitations, and everything we print or send, looks the part. She loves to create and makes sure that everything that represents us is visually pleasing. She is responsible for creating invitations for our events.

Meet Sylvia Weiss

Sylvia joined Schaltkulisse in 2014 in the backoffice as an assistant. She manages to take off loads of work off the shoulders of the management, and works her way around the whole office-headache, things like, *cough cough*, the complicated German paperwork. She’s always happy to give a hand, even when she is busy at home building her new terrace, she’s happy to answer our calls and messages and quickly reacts to urgent matter. Sylvia likes to live life on the fast lane, when she’s not driving her Audi S7 in the untypical color combination of light blue on a white interior, she likes to take her chip-tuned Smart for some action.

Meet James Melinz

James has been a key member of Schaltkulisse for as long as we can remember. Don’t be fooled by his oldschool Bavarian attitude and his sometimes dark humour, because James does mean business. If you call him in the middle of the night and tell him that a car needs to be transported to the north of Denmark by tomorrow evening, he will literally get ready and hit the road in the same hour, to bring the car safe and sound before sunset. Such is his dedication and reliability: you can always count on him to find a solution and make it happen. Around a cold Bavarian beer, he will tell you about all the stories and adventures he’s been through, the cars he got to drive over the years, and the people he met, especially the racing drivers. Because James does have a special place in his heart for everything motorsport, he loves the smell of gazoline and of rubber on the tarmac. He seizes every opportunity to hit the track, be it getting first place in go-kart or overtaking much more powerful race cars in his track-prepared Porsche 911 RSR tribute, which used to belong to none other than racing legend Stefan Bellof himself. It is his pride and joy.
